Trish Stratus Only Wanted To Make WWE Return If It Was Fun

Trish Stratus is an iconic figure in the world of professional wrestling, and she has undoubtedly inspired countless females in and outside of the industry. She is known as a trailblazer in Women’s Wrestling and has broken barriers and shattered stereotypes as one of the first female wrestlers to be taken seriously as an athlete and performer. Moreover, Stratus recently revealed her motivation to get back in the squared circle.

Trish made her long-awaited return to RAW last month to assist her former rival and friend Lita and “The Man” Becky Lynch against the stable of Damage CTRL. This led to the duo winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship from Dakota Kai and IYO Sky.

Furthermore, Trish Stratus is all set to return to in-ring action in two weeks. She recently discussed the motivation behind her return to the ring this year in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

“I’ll only come back if it’s fun. I’m taking time away from my businesses and my babies.”

The former WWE Women’s Champion claims that her passion to support the company’s rising stars is what has been driving her to step back into the ring.

“I love passing the torch and passing on my knowledge. Was I the greatest wrestler? I don’t know, but I knew how to make people take notice.”

During her six years as a full-time competitor, Stratus won the WWE Women’s Title seven times, making her one of the most accomplished female performers of her generation. She went on to state that the superstars of today calling her a role model is a prime reason for her wanting to do this once again.

“I loved that about working with Charlotte. When you hear Sasha Banks or Charlotte or [Natalya] talk about our influence… [It makes me] want to keep doing this, and now with them.”

The WWE Hall of Famer will be teaming up with Lita and Becky Lynch to face the Damage CTRL at WrestleMania 39 in a six-women tag team match. It will be the 47-year-old’s first match since she lost to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam in 2019 with fans around the globe eagerly waiting for her in-ring return at WrestleMania.
