Vince’s McMahon exit from the WWE Chairman position in 2022 was a shocker for the entire pro-wrestling business. Ever since then, there have been multiple reports stating that the Stamford-based promotion is planning to sell its business and is constantly looking for offers around the globe. A recent report suggests that WWE is making its best efforts to impress buyers by streamlining costs for WrestleMania 39.

Ringside News exclusively reported that it has been pretty crazy for WWE in the past few weeks, especially with everyone in confusion about how few staff is being brought to LA for Mania. It seems that WWE is making a lot of cuts, even when it comes to spending on staff. We were additionally told that “a lot of people won’t be making the trip. More ‘not’ than ‘are.’” It was made especially clear that there are a lot more people who are not going to SoFi Stadium for WrestleMania 39.

WWE is undergoing a lot of change right now, both on-screen and behind the scenes. Due to the company’s preparations for a sale, this is also a crucial period for them. A report from PW Insider states that WWE’s approach to WrestleMania 39 has been significantly different compared to recent years. Johnson himself feels this may be an attempt to show prospective bidders the “sleekest, strongest WWE they can.”

The WWE is reportedly planning to meet with interested buyers in April for “first-round bids,” according to a story from last week. This is fuelling the narrative that the company may be up for sale, even when those bids do come in, there is no certainty of a sale.

WWE is expecting to maximize the show’s profit within the constraints. As a result, some previously scheduled events for Mania weekend had to be completely scrapped, and additional employees had to work remotely from the Stamford, Connecticut, offices while the exhibit was going on. Also, rather than flying and attending in person, international announcers scheduled to call the action will do so from their homes.

We will have to wait and see how the sale process is affected by the aftermath of WrestleMania 39 with WWE’s approach to streamlining costs. Check back at Ringside News as we follow up on this story.
