Rhea Ripley has risen to become one of the main attractions for the WWE women’s division today. The Eradicator is moving towards WrestleMania 39 for a big match in her career, amidst the changing landscape for women in the company. Recently, she reflected on the intergender matches happening today, which have been pivotal for women.

Rhea Ripley expressed her appreciation for watching the WWE’s women’s division develop and thrive in a recent interview with “Checkpoint.” She stated that she wasn’t sure women would ever be able to compete in the WrestleMania main event.

The Nightmare also thinks that women are breaking down boundaries in every discipline and proving they can compete with men on an equal footing. Rhea Ripley cited her match against Akira Tozawa on RAW match in December, as an example.

“Like you said, having a match against Tozawa on ‘WWE Raw’ television. That’s something I didn’t think would happen, especially to someone like me. I didn’t think it would be in my timeline.

I thought it would still be down a little bit, like we’d have to work toward that one. But to know that it’s all changing and evolving so quickly, I’m so intrigued and excited to see what the future holds for the women’s division because we’re growing and you can’t really stop us. We’re shining.”

The former RAW Women’s champion is no stranger when it comes to standing in front of male WWE superstars. As mentioned, Rhea Ripley competed against male stars, laid to waste many others, and not been afraid to stand up against them.

Although there aren’t many intergender matches, WWE hasn’t fully abandoned the practice. Notably, on two 1999 pay-per-views, Chyna competed against Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Title, while Alexa Bliss vs. Randy Orton was essentially promoted as the main event of Fastlane 2021. Nia Jax also entered the Men’s Royal Rumble a few years ago to take a handful of finishers. Needless to say, WWE doesn’t go to the intergender well very often at all.

Female WWE superstars like Beth Phoenix, Chyna, Nia Jax, and Kharma have been involved in the Men’s Royal Rumble matches. Looking at Ripley’s comments, the WWE Universe would be thrilled to see Rhea Ripley compete in an intergender match once again, against a top WWE superstar.
