WWE’s 2k video game franchise has been a hit or miss with fans. With another addition on the way on March 17th, everyone is anticipating reviews from gaming critics, but 2k is doing everything they can to build the hype. The company dropped a brand-new look at the game today, and fans should be excited about WarGames coming to their video game consoles.
The official 2K games page finally made an announcement that made fans happy. The latest edition of the popular WWE video game franchise, WWE 2K23, has been released worldwide by Visual Concepts, with 2K announcing the availability of the Icon Edition and Deluxe Edition for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
The Standard Edition and Cross-Gen will be released on Friday, March 17th, 2023. All editions feature multiple images of John Cena, who is not only a 16-time World Champion in the WWE but also a renowned Hollywood figure, a philanthropist with a record-setting impact, and the executive soundtrack producer of WWE 2K23.
“With each iteration of the WWE 2K franchise, our team strives to add and improve features that players will love,” said Greg Thomas, President at Visual Concepts. “We’re very proud of the work that we’ve done on WWE 2K23 and the ‘You Can’t Beat Me’ Showcase, WarGames, enhancements to existing modes, and general look and feel of the game. It truly is ‘Even Stronger.’”
WWE 2K23 introduces an exciting lineup of new features and improvements, including the highly anticipated addition of WarGames. Fans have been clamoring for this mode, which offers intense, high-octane action in both single-player and multiplayer formats. The mode takes place in two side-by-side rings, enclosed within a double-steel cage, and allows for heart-pounding 3v3 and 4v4 battles.
The game will feature a 2K Showcase mode titled “You Can’t Beat Me” which will be focused on John Cena’s career in WWE. In this mode, players will get the opportunity to play as some of Cena’s toughest opponents and attempt to defeat the legendary wrestler. The mode will cover Cena’s 20-year career and will be narrated by Cena himself.
The WWE 2K franchise’s signature feature, the Creation Suite, returns in the upcoming game, offering players the ability to design custom content such as Superstars, General Managers, arenas, entrances, move sets, championships, and more. This feature will be available across multiple platforms, allowing the community to share their creations.
Additionally, the Creation Suite has been improved with new features such as custom arenas being playable online and advanced customization options for created entrances. The Create-a-Superstar models have also been enhanced with visual improvements and the addition of hundreds of new parts, giving players even more options for creating their own unique wrestlers.
It will also feature MyRISE, a bevvy of new creation options, more freedom to create your ideal WWE Superstar and more. It will also feature a lot of incoming DLC in the coming months, so longtime investment will be rewarded.
