Cody Rhodes made his big return to WWE at the 2023 Royal Rumble event. This was a surprise that a lot of fans expected, but nobody saw Ricky Starks’ attendance coming.

Shortly after the 2023 Royal Rumble event, a photo of Cody Rhodes and Ricky Starks leaked from the event. This was not supposed to get out there, but denying that Starks was at the Royal Rumble was futile.

While speaking with Swerve Strickland on the Swerve City Podcast, Ricky Starks mentioned his Royal Rumble backstage appearance. Starks also noted that he’s considering suing the venue for allegedly leaking the photo. This situation could see Ricky Starks get a payday in the end.

“What y’all do care about is where I go in my off time and what other pay-per-views I show up at. So leave me alone, alright? You got to have real friends. Support real friends. The picture is great. It’s so good. I look so jacked like I’m about to rob a bank. The First 48, that’s what it was.

I’m in the process of maybe suing Alamodome and getting some money out of it because how crazy is that? How are you a security guard, and you go, you know what I got? Rewind the tape. Let me show you right quick. Let me show you right quick.”

Ricky Starks and Cody Rhodes are still close friends, but it’s likely that Absolute will stay away from WWE events from this point on. After all, it’s not like Ricky Starks is one of Cody Rhodes’ no-name friends, because Starks is well known enough that his appearance at a WWE event can certainly turn a few heads.

We will have to see what the road ahead has in store for Ricky Starks. He is a standout performer for AEW, and it would make all the sense in the world if he’s also on WWE’s radar. We’re sure that Cody Rhodes wouldn’t mind having him around backstage.

Do you think Ricky Starks will end up in WWE? Who else is on WWE’s radar from AEW? Sound off in the comments!
