Sasha Banks made headlines last year when she walked out on Monday Night RAW along with Naomi. In the months that followed, fans accepted the fact that she was truly done with WWE. She has since made her way to NJPW as Mercedes Mone and is now a champion there. Now it seems Charlotte Flair has also commented on Mone’s move to NJPW.
Mercedes Moné is currently the IWGP Women’s Champion, having won the title at NJPW Battle in the Valley in February. This was Moné’s first officially sanctioned match since May 2022, and she succeeded in capturing the championship in impressive fashion.
Although the Legit Boss has only competed in one match since departing from WWE, it’s clear that she’s relishing in pursuing a direction that many of her colleagues have chosen to steer clear of.
While speaking with Daily Mail’s Alex McCarthy, Charlotte Flair talked about Mercedes Mone leaving WWE. Flair made it clear that she is happy for her friend and that she believes Mone moving to NJPW is inspiring.
“I think it’s cool whenever someone follows their heart, it’s inspiring. There will never be another group like the four horsewomen – ever.”
Mercedes Mone also does not rule out making a return to WWE in the future. It remains to be seen if she will return to WWE in the future. In the meantime, keep checking back with Ringside News for more.
How do you view Mercedes Mone’s move to NJPW? Was it inspiring at all for you? Sound off in the comments!
