AEW fans are incredibly loyal to the promotion and rarely miss the opportunity to put over the product and the performers. That said, some fans gave an entirely new meaning to loyalty with their actions this past Wednesday on Dynamite.
Sean Sapp, a journalist at Fightful, provided the latest scoop on Wednesday Night Dynamite behind a paywall. The report noted that some fans at ringside were spotted handing out money to wrestlers during the show.
There were fans handing wrestlers money throughout the show. Actual 100 dollar bills. We do not know why.
AEW fans are known to be extremely passionate about the product and the promotion, but giving out money to wrestlers during the show gives a new meaning to the term fandom.
The fan support, however, didn’t improve the show’s viewership and only brought an overnight average of 858,000 viewers, with a .29 in the 18 to 49 demographic. This was a big drop in viewership after so many tuned in for Tony Khan’s big announcement.
AEW will return with another episode of Dynamite next Wednesday. The show will emanate from the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You can read more on that here.
