Kofi Kingston was booked to wrestle a huge number one contender’s match for the Intercontinental Championship this week on WWE SmackDown, but suffered an injury days before the match-up. Now, WWE has finally announcement his replacement.
WWE announced on Thursday that Xavier Woods will be replacing Kofi Kingston in the fatal-five way match also involving Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Karrion Kross, and LA Knight on the upcoming edition of the blue brand.

Xavier Woods reacted to the news that he’d be filling in for his New Day partner. The former WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion said he’ll do everything to earn a shot at GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Championship this Friday on WWE SmackDown.
In all my time on the main roster I have never once had a match where a singles title was on the line. Ive beaten men while they held World and Universal championships. I even won King of the Ring. Still no shot. Tomorrow I do everything I can to get one.
