Johnny Gargano Makes Surprise Return To Set Up Huge Match At NXT Stand & Deliver

Johnny Gargano won over the NXT crowd with his incredible matches against the likes of Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole. Tonight, the Rebel Heart made his surprise return to the white and gold brand to set up a huge match at NXT Stand & Deliver.

Tonight’s edition of WWE NXT featured a special edition of The Grayson Waller Effect with Shawn Michaels as the guest. Grayson Waller cut to the chase and introduced Shawn Michaels to his talk show. The PC erupted with “sexy boy”, “HBK” and “boy toy” chants.

Waller said he should’ve been a fan of Bret Hart instead of Michaels. HBK said they were cool till Waller confronted him following the events of NXT Vengeance Day. The arrogant Aussie said he wanted to take over, but feels he’s being held back by HBK the same way “Vince held you back.”

Michaels told Waller he needs to do a bit of self reflecting. The Men’s Iron Survivor Series Challenge winner took a personal shot at Michaels when he said he only got a job at the Gorilla because “your best friend Hunter had a heart attack.” The WWE Hall of Famer said NXT thrived because of collective efforts.

Waller challenged Shawn Michaels to a match at Stand & Deliver. Michaels said he’d be thrilled to get inside the squared circle again, but that won’t happen. He then introduced Johnny Gargano as Waller’s Stand & Deliver opponent. Gargano entered the ring and immediately took out Waller to conclude the segment.
