Brock Lesnar is one of the most gifted and dangerous in-ring competitors of all time. The Beast Incarnate has been a box-office attraction for WWE for a long time and many rising stars have tried to make a name at the expense of the former WWE champion only to take a harsh trip to Suplex City. Despite that, current champion Gunther is all game for the challenge and calls it his destiny to face Brock Lesnar in WWE.
The Ring General has proved himself to be one of the most talented and brightest individuals in the company today. Moreover, Gunther’s amazing WWE Intercontinental championship has been nothing sort of remarkable.
GUNTHER made it quite evident during his appearance on “The Ringer Wrestling Show” that Lesnar is the one who tops his list of ideal opponents. The leader of the Imperium also thinks that another encounter between them is simply a question of time.
“Brock is the one that has to happen at some point. I think I made him my personal biggest obstacle. The [Royal Rumble] was literally the first time I met him. [It was] brief, but that moment that we had in the Rumble was great because that was all I needed out of it. It was basically like a real-life confirmation that the audience is up for that. They want to see it.”
While it could appear that Gunther’s desire to face Brock Lesnar arose from their encounter at the most recent Royal Rumble, that’s certainly not the case. Gunther has actually been considering it for some time now.
“When I watched him when he started in WWE, he was always the most impressive guy to me. Absolute beast. I saw his stuff in Japan and UFC, then he came back and he’s been on top since then. One of the best wrestlers to ever do it in my mind. For that reason, I want to be able to prove myself against him.”
Many had expected Brock Lesnar vs Gunther to happen at this year’s WrestleMania in Hollywood. However, that is not the case anymore as Lesnar is slated to battle Omos, while the Ring General’s opponent for The Show of Shows will be determined this Friday on SmackDown.
