WWE has seen a lot of changes over the last year, including Vince McMahon’s retirement and return to the company as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. He is not in charge of creative, but you wouldn’t know that by the first WrestleMania advertisements that went out.

Early WrestleMania graphics showed that the event was “Directed by Vince McMahon” at the bottom of those movie posters that morph into match graphics. It didn’t take long for fans to notice that in a big way, because Mr. McMahon isn’t supposed to have anything to do with creative.

The WrestleMania 39 graphic, which featured a Hollywood movie theme, included various credits with one particularly stating “Directed by Vince McMahon.” However, the credit has now been changed, with the graphic now showing the event is being directed by ‘Selma Tinware’, an anagram of ‘WrestleMania’.

While many fans and critics have been eagerly awaiting McMahon’s return to WWE creative, it remains unclear if he will regain any creative power. Triple H had previously mentioned that he and McMahon “may have discussions” about WWE creative, but the final decision on what happens is ultimately made by Levesque. Ringside News has not been able to confirm that Vince McMahon is back with creative in any respect.

At WrestleMania 39, Roman Reigns will defend his WWE Undisputed Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes. Despite the speculation surrounding McMahon’s return to creative, his name has been removed from the graphic, leaving fans to wait for an official announcement regarding his involvement with WWE creative.

Following Vince McMahon’s announcement of retirement in July 2022 and his subsequent return to the WWE board of directors as the executive chairman in January, speculations about his potential return to creative power have been circulating. Although there has been no official announcement regarding his comeback, a recent WrestleMania 39 advertisement sparked rumors that McMahon may soon regain the head of creative role.

We will have to see what the road to WrestleMania has in store for fans. Vince McMahon might be at the show of shows, but nixing his name from this graphic is certainly a sign that WWE had no intention of fans seeing this little Easter Egg.
