Tommaso Ciampa was certainly one of the best things about NXT throughout his run in the developmental brand. He was part of solid feuds, especially with his eternal friend/rival Johnny Gargano. Ciampa continues to go through a rigorous rehabilitation regime after surgery. It seems Ciampa even got stem cell therapy during his injury hiatus.
Ciampa was in the middle of building his momentum on Monday Night RAW when a nagging injury forced him to take a break from in-ring competition. The former NXT Champion had a successful surgery in October 2022.
As previously reported, his hip injury had been bothering him for nearly a year before Tommaso Ciampa underwent surgery. Naturally, fans have been wondering when he would make his in-ring return.
The former NXT Champion took to his Instagram and uploaded a post, where Ciampa revealed that he had stem cell therapy while he remains absent due to injury.
Today was my final stem cell treatment.
They have this awesome tradition at @bioxcellerator where you write what you are hoping to achieve on your stem cell bag.
I wrote “dance with buddies” which is Willow’s term for wrestling, and “play tag” because it breaks my heart that I can’t run and play with my 4 year old.
130 million cells via IV
190 million cells via intraarticular (ankles, knees, hips, shoulders)
40 million cells via intradiscal (lumbar spine, facets, SI joints)
360 million stem cells in total. Let’s heal! 🖤

Stem cell therapy is a type of medical treatment that involves the use of stem cells to replace or repair damaged cells or tissues in the body. Stem cells are unique cells that have the ability to differentiate into various types of cells, such as blood cells, muscle cells, and nerve cells. This means they can potentially be used to treat a wide range of diseases and injuries, including spinal cord injuries, heart disease, and diabetes. Stem cells can be obtained from various sources, including embryos, bone marrow, and umbilical cord blood.
While stem cell therapy shows great promise for the treatment of many conditions, it is currently illegal in the United States in many cases. This is because the use of embryonic stem cells, which are obtained from embryos that are a few days old, is highly controversial. Some people believe that using embryonic stem cells for medical research or treatment is unethical because it involves the destruction of a human embryo.
In 2001, President George W. Bush limited federal funding for embryonic stem cell research to a small number of existing cell lines, which limited the availability of embryonic stem cells for research and therapy. Despite this limitation, many researchers are continuing to explore the use of adult stem cells and other sources of stem cells for medical treatment.
It remains to be seen if Tommaso Ciampa will return to action this year. All of this rehab footage could make amazing additions to a hype package, much like Cody Rhodes received, before Ciampa’s WWE comeback. The Psycho Killer was in a feud with Bobby Lashley over the United States Championship the last time they shared the ring.
