AEW has a lot of popular properties, but it’s not every day that something receives the organic reaction that Max Caster and Anthony Bowens’ “scissor me” catchphrase received. The company has cashed in on this phrase several times in the past, but now it seems that Caster might be planning a festival of his own.

Max Caster has filed for two new trademarks through his attorney, Michael E. Dockins. Of course, Dockins is popularly known as the “Gimmick Attorney,” because he has helped, so many pro wrestlers lock down their names and catchphrases in the past.

The trademarks in question are “Scissor Me” and “ScissorFest,” both filed by Max Caster. Records show that the filing was made with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on March 2nd. “Scissor Me” has been filed for merchandise purposes, while “ScissorFest” has been filed for entertainment purposes.

Max Caster’s tag team partner, Anthony Bowens, popularized the catchphrase “Scissor Me” on AEW television, which has helped to establish the team’s popularity with fans. This has led to the duo being given a push as one of the top tag teams in the division.

Alongside Billy Gunn (or Daddy Ass), the Acclaimed rose up AEW’s tag team rankings, where they had a fun stint as AEW World Tag Team Champions. They got over to the point where fans don’t need to see them with titles in order to cheer them, but it also gives them another goal to chase.

The Acclaimed are set to compete in a four-way tag team match at AEW’s upcoming Revolution pay-per-view event on Sunday, March 6th. They will face off against The Gunn Club, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal, and Orange Cassidy & Danhausen. The Gunn Club, the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions, are going to need to pull off quite a feat to retain their titles.

By filing for these trademarks, Max Caster is taking steps to protect his intellectual property and capitalize on the popularity of The Acclaimed. It remains to be seen how these trademarks will be used in the future.
