AEW relied on Hikaru Shida to carry their Women’s World Title throughout the pandemic, and she was quite a fighting champion. After losing her title, Shida, slipped down the rankings, and now she is out of action with an injury. She also isn’t even in the United States, even if she was able to compete.
The last we heard from Hikadu Shida, she was dealing with a finger injury. During a gaming stream in February, Shida revealed, “I’m going to the show every week. To be honest, I have a little injury in my finger. It’s alright. It’s good. I can play game. It’s alright. Maybe soon, I can wrestle.”
Hikaru Shida has also been active on social media, by treating her fans to photo drops and other updates as well. Shida has a loyal fan base, and they are always keeping up to date on her recent activity. Sadly, she hasn’t been in the ring much at all so far in 2023.
According to Fightful’s paywall’s Hikaru Shida is in Japan right now. She is also still dealing with that finger injury that we heard about a few weeks ago.
Hikaru Shida has been dealing with a finger injury, and is back in Japan. She worked the Jericho Cruise, performing in a couple of matches, but has otherwise barely wrestled this year.
It’s unlikely that Hikaru Shida will be a part of AEW Revolution on March 5th. She is not only out of the country, but it doesn’t sound like her finger is good enough to wrestle. Only time will tell how long that in-ring hiatus lasts.
We will continue waiting for Hikaru Shida’s AEW return, because she certainly adds a lot to the women’s division. Until that day happens, keep it tuned right here with Ringside News.
