Charlotte Flair returned to WWE and recaptured the SmackDown Women’s Title on her first night back on the blue brand. Her winning ways continue as she hits the road to WrestleMania, and it seems that The Queen has figured out what fans expect of her at this point.

While speaking to The Dan LeBatard Show, Charlotte Flair stated that it is easier for her to play a heel on WWE television over a babyface character at this point. She has done both, but it’s far easier to get fans to boo her instead.

“[You’d struggle to be a babyface?] Oh, you think [laughs]. That is harder. [But you had a great reception when you came back like fans like this from you] So, now my mindset is I’m not a good guy I’m not a bad guy. I’m just (…) I’m the woman.”

Charlotte Flair went on to say that she believes that WWE fans have a certain expectation from her at this point. She is supposed to be an arrogant heel, a role that she takes on with gusto every opportunity she has.

“Well, I spent so many years trying to get people to boo me. And now with the reception with our fans and them like being so excited to see me, I just try not to overthink it. I think they wanna see me be arrogant now. Like they want to cheer that. They don’t want me to be corny. They just want me to be me and that’s what they (…) It’s more of like a respect thing because of everything that I’ve done within the industry.”

Charlotte Flair is set to battle Rhea Ripley with the SmackDown Women’s Title on the line at WrestleMania 39. Only time will tell how that storyline turns out, but they certainly have a backstory to build toward their big match.

We’ll have to see where Charlotte Flair’s path takes her in the future, but it’s likely that a certain section of the WWE fan base will boo her, no matter what she does. So, Charlotte Flair might as well cash in on that and make a ton of money while getting booed for being an arrogant Queen.
