Goldberg established himself as a major force in WCW before he eventually made his way to WWE. Despite previously expressing remorse for not fully embracing professional wrestling earlier in his career, he has since made amends and returned to the ring six years ago as a part-time performer. That being said, it seems he once wanted to rip Gillberg’s face off.

Gillberg made his WWE debut in the late 1990s and immediately started to impersonate Goldberg. Gillberg gained a lot of popularity for what he tried to portray – a perfect parody of Goldberg. However, Goldberg never saw it that way as Goldberg made it clear he absolutely hated the gimmick.

While speaking on WWE Network show Ruthless Aggression, Goldberg talked about his feelings towards Gillberg. Goldberg revealed that he hated the gimmick and “wanted to kill” Gillberg.

“I hated the Gillberg thing in the beginning. I just absolutely hated it. I wanted to rip the guy’s face off. I wanted to really kill him. But that means it worked.”

Gillberg retired back in 2020, and he suffered a heart attack that same year. Thankfully, Gillberg is in much better health, so he can always be appreciative of that.

Goldberg made a ton of money from this WrestleMania 20 match. Goldberg also confirmed he will wrestle again. We will have to wait and see whether will make his WWE return this year.
