Chris Jericho is undoubtedly a seasoned veteran in the world of professional wrestling, with a career spanning over three decades. With such extensive experience, Jericho is definitely aware of his own value within the business. In fact, he has no intention of returning and retiring in WWE.
Before making his way to AEW, Chris Jericho has competed in almost every major pro wrestling company including WCW, WWE, NJPW and others. He especially made a name for himself in WWE.
Chris Jericho joined AEW in January 2019 following his departure from WWE in 2018 and subsequent return to NJPW. That being said, fans wonder if he will ever return to WWE again.
While speaking to The Daily Star, Jericho was asked about finishing his career in AEW. Jericho stated that WWE is not the place to be and that he wants to end his career in AEW.
“I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. I don’t hold a torch for WWE. To me, that’s not ‘the place to be’. AEW is the place to be. It really is.
I’ve been in WWE. I know how it works. They work that way, I don’t care if Vince is there, Hunter is there, or whoever is there. They have a way of doing things, and I was there for 20 years and was pretty good at it.
Business is business and there’s always ups and downs, but I have zero interest in ever going back to WWE.
That’s not out of bitterness or anger. I love Vince and I love Hunter and all the people there.
But I just really dig AEW, and I have a stake in the game. I came here right out of the gate – I was the guy.
Chris Jericho is currently engaged in a feud with Ricky Starks on AEW television. We’ll have to wait and see how their feud will be booked in the coming weeks.
