Piper Niven made her return in last month’s Royal Rumble premium live event. She dropped her Doudrop name, which she went by prior to her return. She is now performing for the RAW brand as Piper Niven, a name she held in NXT UK. However, she wishes she spent more time experimenting in the American developmental brand version of WWE NXT.
Ahead of the Royal Rumble, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp got the opportunity to interview Niven before she dropped her Doudrop name. She expressed her excitement to see her former tag team partner Nikki Cross pursue a more “organic” role in contrast to her superhero gimmick as Nikki A.S.H.
“I know Nikki quite personally, so getting to see her be the absolute little creep that she is, I’m like, ‘Yes, his is very organic, yes.’ No, I love it and I love this for her and I love where it’s going. I think watching her little skits has been very entertaining. So yeah, I’m very happy for it,”
Piper Niven competed in WWE NXT UK before transitioning to the main roster in 2021. Piper didn’t have much time in WWE NXT stateside, as she was immediately called up to the main roster. Niven expressed her desire to have spent more time in the North American NXT
“It was a lot of fun. Obviously, I didn’t get the chance to mix it up in NXT as much as I wanted, so it was really nice to get to go there and work with people and train with people there. It was a good experience,”
You can check out Piper Niven’s interview below. It was actually the last interview she ever did as Doudrop. It remains to be seen what she will bring to the RAW brand going forward. Till then, stay tuned to Ringside News for the latest updates.
