Tony Khan is always on the lookout for new stars and future main eventers in the hopes of expanding AEW’s incredibly-stacked roster. It appears that the promotion has identified its next big signing.
Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that AEW is attempting to sign Ashley D’Amboise, a rising star on the independent circuit. According to the report, the promotion has already offered a contract to the 32-year-old.
AEW is set to add another name to their roster if all goes well.
Fightful Select has learned that All Elite Wrestling has offered a contract to independent standout and highly touted prospect Ashley D’Amboise.
D’Amboise has been on All Elite Wrestling’s radar for quite some time, as she debuted for the company two years ago in the Daily’s Place era. She’d go on to work 20+ dates for the company, including teaming with Skye Blue last summer on Rampage to take on Dr. Britt Baker DMD and Jamie Hayter.
D’Amboise started to pop up on other company’s television shows recently, as well. Since December she’s appeared on several episode of NWA TV, and also worked an IMPACT Wrestling match against former champion Deonna Purrazzo.
Several in the industry pointed out D’Amboise as a name to look out for, noting that she was a quick learner and took to pro wrestling well. D’Amboise has wrestled for the last couple of years. Sources within AEW we spoke to wouldn’t confirm if the deal was full-time or tiered, but said that they believe D’Amboise would be signing within the next couple of weeks.
Ashley D’Amboise last competed for Tony Khan’s promotion on the October 21, 2022, episode of AEW Dark, when she lost to Kayla Rossi in singles competition. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more.
