Dominik Mysterio did the unthinkable and turned heel by attacking Edge and then his father Rey Mysterio, shocking everyone in attendance at Clash At The Castle. He even attacked his father on Thanksgiving after that. Mysterio and Rhea Ripley decided to crash Rey Mysterio’s place on Christmas Eve, but it did not go the way they planned this time, as Dominik was arrested. Afterward, he was sent to jail for his actions and now Dominiik Mysterio explained why he was sent to jail.
Following a short stint in jail as part of his storyline, Dominik Mysterio returned with a whole new look, as many called him Prison Dom. For the most part, fans are beginning to like his heel character now.
While speaking to Riju Dasgupta, Dominik Mysterio stated that when he shares his firsthand account of his time in prison with WWE fans, he’s met with skepticism and disbelief.
I think that they don’t believe that I actually did hard time. They don’t believe that I did time in prison, but what they don’t realize is that once things got out of hand at my grandparents’ house, they took me away.”
Video evidence revealed that Angie, Dominik’s mother, slapped Ripley across the face. However, despite her involvement in the altercation, it was only Dominik who received a reprimand from the authorities
“And after Rhea’s actions, not even Rhea, but my mom slapped Rhea, so it wasn’t even us. We were the ones that got taken away because of how I handled the situation. I guess I grabbed one of the cops the wrong way, they locked me up for a certain amount of time.”
Although some fans may doubt Dominik Mysterio’s accounts of his experiences in prison, he takes comfort in the support of his Judgment Day stablemates who stand behind him. He knows what he saw that night.
“A lot of the people aren’t gonna believe that, but Mami was there, Priest was there, and Finn was there when they bailed me out, so they know how real it was.”
