Jim Ross held a role running talent relations for WWE, and he performed that job for a long time. During his tenure in that position, it was always good to be in his favor, but that doesn’t mean he liked everyone on the roster. One former Superstar claims that Good ole JR just did not like him.
Although he is currently with AEW and performing roles on commentary during Rampage, Jim Ross has held many hats in the pro wrestling world. As head of talent relations for WWE, he had to deal with a lot of situations and people that most wouldn’t encounter in an everyday workplace.
On Dupree’s Cafe de Rene podcast, Sylvain Grenier claimed that his close friendship with Pat Patterson might have contributed to Ross disliking him. They had a lot in common, and Gernier gravitated to the first-ever IC Champion, who worked for WWE as an agent at the time.
“[Jim Ross] didn’t like me. I think he liked you [Rene Dupree] better because you had a background. He didn’t like me because I didn’t play football, because I was a model. I was not the typical wrestler background. He didn’t like me, I know that. And I had a connection with Pat.”
We’ll have to see if Jim Ross has anything to say about this. After all, he has his own podcast to speak his mind. Perhaps this could also be an opportunity to mend things and put something in the past. If anything, it might give them something else to talk about on their respective podcasts.
