Huge Match Announced To Determine Gunther’s WrestleMania 39 Opponent

Ever since winning the Intercontinental Championship several months ago, Gunther has been unstoppable. He has proven to be a workhorse and has defended his title on numerous occasions in some of the most brutal matches. His title defense last year against Sheamus at Clash at the Castle was one of the best matches of the year.

Despite his ability to put on bangers, most of his recent title defenses have been on SmackDown. However, that will change at WrestleMania.

WWE will be returning to Madison Square Garden for a show on Sunday, March 12 and at least one major match has been announced for the event.

The official Twitter handle of MSG tweeted out that a 20-man battle royal will be held where the winner will face Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 39.

The names listed for the match are Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, The New Day, Finn Balor, Sheamus, Damian Priest, The Miz, Bobby Lashley, Dominik Mysterio, Johnny Gargano, Omos, Dexter Lumis, Bronson Reed, Rick Boogs, Santos Escobar, Braun Strowman, Ricochet, Baron Corbin, and Karrion Kross.
