Impact Wrestling is looking forward to the future, and sometimes that includes bringing in fresh faces. A few of those people might have ventured through WWE during one point in time, and it seems that we have a couple more names to add to that list.
KENTA made his NXT debut in 2014 as Hideo Itami. During his tenure in NXT, KENTA would be featured in some memorable storylines. However, as good as KENTA was, he was never considered the top guy in NXT and departed the company after a short stint. Shane Thorne also debuted in NXT in 2016 and competed on the brand till 2020 following which he was promoted to the main roster.
Thorne was part of the now-defunct faction Retribution, where he wrestled under the ring name Slapjack. Following the faction’s failure, Thorne was released from the company. Now, it looks like he may reappear for another promotion.
Impact Wrestling recently announced two matches for this weekend’s television tapings following the No Surrender special on Friday.
The first match will see KENTA square off against Impact World Champion Josh Alexander and in the second match, Shane Haste aka Shane Thorne will take on “Speedball” Mike Bailey with both bouts set to take place on Saturday Night.
Saturday’s television tapings promise an exciting night of action, with plenty of exciting matches announced. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we keep you updated on this story. You can check out the complete card below, and keep checking back here at Ringside News for more.
