Kenny Omega is renowned worldwide for his exceptional in-ring abilities, earning him the moniker of “The Best Bout Machine” for good reason. He dominated the AEW World Championship scene for nearly a year with a solid reign, while also establishing his dominance in NJPW by defeating Kazuchika Okada to become the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Before becoming a household name, Omega started as a rookie in the WWE’s developmental system. In fact, some in WWE believe they can sign Kenny Omega. That being said, it seems Jim Cornette isn’t very open to the idea of Omega in WWE.

Kenny Omega once wrestled for Deep South Wrestling, a former WWE developmental territory. In October 2005, Omega was sent to Deep South Wrestling and was given a tryout.

The Cleaner eventually requested his release in August 2006 and even considered quitting professional wrestling after his time in WWE. As previously reported, WWE believes they can sign Kenny Omega to a contract.

While speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette talked about Kenny Omega possibly making his way to WWE. Cornette made it clear that he believes Omega would be an absolute imbecile in WWE.

“Well, I agree because what is he now? 37-38? He is now older than Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson when I brought them to Smoky Mountain Wrestling. well 39, there you go. So he is a 40-year-old guy, he has got no proven record in his only competition of drawing any ratings, if quite the opposite. They are aware that he is prickly personality and he is in it for his art.

I’ve said it before, if they made an offer for him it would be so the other guys wouldn’t have him just to disrupt them and it’s a minute expense on the WWE’s part but also two things would happen, they would think he is a complete imbecile or lunatic with the way that he thinks and talks and acts and views things or conversely they would give him a nervous breakdown with the way that the WWE thinks acts and talks about things.”

We also reported that AEW could add substantial time to Kenny Omega’s contract. We will have to wait and see whether Kenny Omega will ever make his way to WWE in the future.
