Andrade el Idolo left WWE for AEW’s greener pastures, but his jump to Tony Khan’s company wasn’t met with a tremendous amount of success. He hasn’t been in the ring for quite a while, but it wasn’t by choice. Andrade has been dealing with an injury.
Although Ric Flair says that Andrade has been training hard for his return to the ring, that hasn’t happened yet. He has appeared in happy photos of his wife, Charlotte Flair, but now we have a bit more clarification about what his issue is.
Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that Andrade El Idolo has been out of action thanks to a pectoral injury. It wasn’t noted how bad the tear is, but he suffered it last fall. After surgery in “late November,” Andrade has been on the mend. Now his projected return date is somewhere in the Spring.
For those that are asking, Andrade is still recovering from surgery. He had suffered a torn pectoral injury during a match last fall, and had surgery in late November. He’s not expected to be ready until the Spring at least.
We will have to see what Andrade El Idolo is able to do when he returns to the ring. He has a ton of talent, but it seems that Andrade struggled to capture audiences’ attention since his run in NXT under Triple H’s control.
