The Hurt Business, consisting of Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin, had a remarkable run during their tenure in WWE, making an indelible mark in the company’s history. The group elevated the profiles of its members to unprecedented levels, establishing a lasting legacy. Despite their immense success, the Hurt Business, like several other WWE factions, ultimately dissolved in 2021, culminating in an episode of Monday Night RAW, marking the end of an era. With rumors of the faction return, it seems WWE has discussed Carmelo Hayes joining them.
Even Roman Reigns thought that their split up premature. The stable did have a short-lived reunion, but eventually disbanded for good, leaving fans with no hope for their return.
Bobby Lashley previously said the breakup ‘hurt his heart.’ In addition to that, Bobby Lashley also promised a Hurt Business reunion. WWE has continued to drop hints regarding the faction’s return on Monday Night RAW in the past couple of weeks.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been “discussions” of calling up two-time NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes to join the faction.
Meltzer added that this was “discussion and not definite”, but that there have definitely been talks of Hayes being called up to the main roster. MVP recently noted that he is trying his best for a Hurt Business reunion, so we’ll have to see if that will end up happening in the future.
