Roman Reigns is all set to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Sami Zayn at the Elimination Chamber this Saturday. While there seems to be little logical chance that Zayn will win at the event, it will surely gain him credibility as one of the top babyfaces in the company. Zayn, who couldn’t bear anymore bulldozing from The Tribal Chief at the Royal Rumble, decided to part ways with The Bloodline by turning on him. There is also always the possibility that this story will continue playing out on the grandest stage of them all.
Roman Reigns last appearance in the WWE was on the February 3rd edition of SmackDown, where fans got to see a bloodthirsty Sami Zayn pouncing on him. Zayn completely outperformed the Tribal Chief at the event. However, he was attacked by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso, and that’s when Reigns stated that he would love to fight Zayn at the Elimination Chamber.
Sami Zayn appears to be enraged at Roman Reigns and eager to get his hands on him. While Cody Rhodes has punched his ticket to face the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at WrestleMania, fans want Zayn to be a part of the match too.
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair shared his thoughts on the World Championship match at WrestleMania being a Triple Threat. After all, Sami Zayn’s momentum is massive right now. During a recent edition of To be The Man Podcast, Flair stated that he is in favor of Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns at the Grandest stage of them all.
“No way! They have put too much time into Cody and too much time into Roman. The fans sometimes get with that three-way stuff, and sometimes they don’t, you know what I mean? I think it is better; I know it would mean more just from knowing him like I have since 12 years old; I think Cody and Roman that’s going to be a really world-class match.”
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will throw down in the main event of night two for WrestleMania 39, but you never know what can happen on the road to WrestleMania. WWE has changed plans around in the past, but it’s pretty hard to picture a situation where Triple H screws Cody Rhodes out of a grand WrestleMania moment.
