Baron Corbin Says His Match Against Cody Rhodes On WWE RAW Wasn’t Sanctioned

Baron Corbin got a new gimmick in 2022 when he was paired with JBL, who referred to Corbin as a “Modern Day Wrestling God.” Unfortunately, the alliance failed to get over with the fans. Triple H gave up on the angle as well and booked JBL to walk out on Corbin last Monday on RAW.

Baron Corbin appeared on RAW this week for a interview segment with Cathey Kelley. The segment was interrupted due to Sami Zayn’s surprise arrival on the show. WWE cameras returned to Corbin for the interview. The RAW superstar insulted Cody Rhodes and his family, prompting The American Nightmare to attack Corbin for behind.

Cody got a referee to start the match. The two brought the action to the ring, where Cody picked up the win in mere minutes. Corbin was interviewed by Byron Saxton following his loss to Cody Rhodes. Corbin went off on Saxton for asking questions, claiming his match wasn’t sanctioned.

“I went out there and I got embarrassed in a match that wasn’t even sanctioned. Who gives Cody Rhodes the right to make a match!?”

Corbin further stated that he’s trying to figure out what he’s doing. He threatened to take out his frustration on Saxton as well. It remains to be seen whether or not Baron Corbin will figure out what’s next for him. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more from the world of pro wrestling.
