Big Swole was let go by AEW back in 2021 after she was largely underutilized by the company. While many believed it was due to her suffering from Chron’s Disease, it was actually because her contract had simply run out. Lio Rush sent an angry tweet to Tony Khan right after her firing and it seems he does not regret the tweet whatsoever.

AEW President Tony Khan caused a lot of controversy after he responded to Big Swole’s callout by being unprofessional about it. Khan also said he let Swole’s contract expire because she wasn’t good enough.

Lio Rush took to Twitter right after she was fired, making it clear that he was angry. In a follow-up tweet, Rush demanded that Tony Khan apologize to Big Swole for his insensitive comments.

While speaking during a virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, Lio Rush talked about his angry tweet to Tony Khan. Rush made it clear that he does not regret the tweet one bit.

Like I said, I never regret, I rarely regret anything that I do and if it is something that maybe I shouldn’t have done or it could have been handled differently then let me learn from that experience, you know what I mean? I’d rather learn from my own mistakes than have somebody tell me to do something and then, you know, it goes either way.

It remains to be seen whether Lio Rush will ever make his way back to AEW. With a flourishing career in NJPW right now, a future return to AEW does seem unlikely at this point in time.
