CM Punk has not competed for AEW since All Out 2022 and remains in professional wrestling limbo after blowing up at AEW’s post-All Out 2022 press scrum. His backstage brawl with The Elite caused AEW President Tony Khan to suspend everyone involved in the fight. While every one who was suspended has since returned to work, Punk remains the only name to be indefinitely sidelined. Of course, Ace Steel was fired after the brawl, and now CM Punk has dropped an attention-grabbing video.
In recent memory, CM Punk has been rumored to be making a potential return to WWE. However, despite rumors of a possible contract buyout, it doesn’t seem like Tony Khan will let Punk switch over to their biggest rival anytime soon.
CM Punk recently posted an Instagram Story that will have fans talking. The post was a repost from a video on Ice T’s Instagram page about forgiveness for “bad deeds”. This post comes after Punk’s suspension from AEW following a backstage incident at AEW All Out in September 2022.
CM Punk is still under contract with AEW. The 2-time AEW World Champion is under contractual obligation to perform whenever Tony Khan wants to use him on live television.
While plenty of people do not want CM Punk to make his way back to AEW, the Second City Saint has got his fair list of supporters who cannot wait to welcome him back to the company. Punk’s list of supporters includes Jade Cargill and FTR among others.
It is unclear what CM Punk’s Instagram story means in the grand scheme of things and whether it signals his potential return to AEW or if he is ready to move on. However, it is clear that this post will have fans talking and speculating about what it could mean for Punk’s future in wrestling.
