Chelsea Green made her WWE return this past month at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Green was the 20th entrant in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. Her return to WWE was record-setting after Rhea Ripley eliminated her in five seconds. She’s been through a lot in her career, including getting some secret plastic surgery.
In the past couple of weeks, Chelsea Green has been portraying a new “Karen” gimmick on Monday Night RAW. According to reports, her new character has been well received by the WWE management.
Chelsea Green recently revealed quite a wild story when it came to her time in WWE. The former NXT performer shared that she had secretly gotten breast augmentation surgery before joining WWE in 2018, which was done without the knowledge or consent of the company.
Chelsea Green spoke about the surprising revelation during an episode of her Green With Envy podcast in 2021. She said that although the surgery was done in secret, it still had to be paid for and that’s when her boyfriend at the time, actor Zachary Levi, stepped in.
“I got a secret boob job. I never told WWE. I didn’t really tell my co-workers. There are very few people that knew that when I was healing from my wrist, I got a secret boob job. No regrets. I f*cking love them.”
Chelsea Green went on to explain that she felt pressure from the WWE to be a certain kind of body type, which she felt she could not achieve without the surgery. She believes that it is a common problem in wrestling, as companies only want to sign performers who fit their ideal body type.
“I have to say, it was very nerve-wracking. So we’ll go back to, you know, I was healing my arm. Going into physical therapy with WWE, pretending that I wasn’t also healing from new boobs, for those of you who get new boobs, or have never had new boobs, I guess you don’t realize how intense this surgery is. Some people cannot lift their arms at all. Some people cannot lift their torso at all. Some people cannot twist or go for a walk, or, you know, pick up their cat. Like, it is very invasive if you get your boobs under the muscle like I did. But I signed up for this, I knew what I was getting myself into, and I walked on into physical therapy at the Performance Center wearing a baggy ass sweater with my boobs bandaged to my chest and I pretended like nothing was wrong.”
Chelsea Green’s decision to go ahead with the surgery without the WWE’s knowledge or consent is certainly bold, and she believes it is something that should be more widely accepted in the wrestling industry. However, it could also be seen as a risk as it is possible that the WWE could have pulled out of signing her as a result of it.
