Randy Orton was on top of his game alongside Matt Riddle as RAW Tag Team Champions. Then The Viper lost those belts to the Usos, and he hasn’t been seen since. This was far more than just writing Orton off television for an angle, because the shoo-in WWE Hall of Famer is dealing with a real injury that stopped his momentum in its tracks.

Randy Orton underwent surgery, and that back fusion was said to be a success. Now he is at home and recuperating as WWE prepares for the road to WrestleMania.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter dropped a small note about Randy Orton’s progress. It was stated in the newsletter that Randy Orton’s return has no updates at all. In fact, we’re still looking at a long wait to see him again.

We’ve heard no wrestling update on him recently but his back injuries were very serious and a few months ago there was concern about whether he’d be able to return, or at best, it would be a long time, which it has already been.

Randy Orton did not return during the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match, but neither did his tag team partner, Matt Riddle. The Original Bro has been off television for months, but it had nothing to do with an injury. Riddle failed a WWE Wellness Policy test, and he had to go through rehab.

Only time will tell if RK-Bro ever makes their way back to WWE television. At this point, fans are still waiting for any sign that either member will make a return to the ring at all.
