Kota Ibushi is widely regarded as one of the most talented professional wrestlers in history. Despite being surrounded by controversy in early 2022, which led fans to speculate about his departure from NJPW, he has since become a free agent, having parted ways with the company. That being said, it seems Ibushi does not rule out working with WWE in the future.
Kota Ibushi has been on the shelf since his match with Kazuchika Okada in the final match of the G1 Climax 31 tournament in NJPW in October 2021, due to a shoulder injury. Fans have been eagerly anticipating his return to the ring, but there has been no official update on his in-ring comeback status yet.
As previously reported, Kota Ibushi is now officially a free agent after parting ways with NJPW. Right after that, Ibushi was announced for several upcoming shows, including in GCW.
While speaking with Dark Puroresu Flowsion, Kota Ibushi made it clear that he would not rule out working for WWE in the future.
Of course, I’m interested in it. I’m good at producing players & I’ve created stars, so I don’t think there’s anyone who can control me even in that frame. I live so freely.”
Kota Ibushi revealed that he does not plan on going to AEW immediately. Ibushi even hinted at making his way to AEW. Only time will tell whether The Golden Lovers will reunite in Tony Khan’s company, or if he will make his way to WWE. After all, Ibushi was already part of the Cruiserweight Classic tournament in 2016.
