Following an attack by Kevin Owens on the August 8th, 2022 edition of WWE RAW, Ezekiel was written off television and is no longer listed on WWE’s internal roster. He was taken to a local medical facility to be evaluated after the powerbomb he received on the ring apron. Ezekiel’s departure resulted in Elias’ much-anticipated return last year.

Elias has since returned to WWE in October 2022 and provided an update on his brother’s health. According to Elias, fans won’t be seeing Ezekiel again anytime soon.

During an interview with WWE Deutschland, Elias noted that Ezekiel is still in a coma following the powerbomb. The whole family is hoping for a miraculous recovery.

“Yeah I gotta be honest with you. The boss is in way more contact with him than I am. He wants to know like when’s he gonna be back, how is he, everything like that. But the truth is all the reports I get is that he’s still in a coma.

He’s in the hospital recovering. Ever since he was taken out by Kevin Owens. I don’t know if you remember when the whole family was gathered by the hospital bed. I kinda keep my distance now to protect myself emotionally. It’s hard to see my brother like that. But all the reports I get say that he’s still in a coma, and we’re hoping for a recovery though.”

In the wake of Ezekiel’s absence, Elias has been very active. He has Alpha Academy, Omos, and Solo Sikoa, just to name a few. This past Monday on RAW, Elis squared off with Montez Ford in a losing effort.

Elias has been in the wrestling business since 2007 when he debuted on the independent scene. He has since worked for a number of different promotions, including Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Ring of Honor.

With Ezekiel now out of the picture, it remains to be seen how WWE books Elias en route to WrestleMania 39. With less than two months to go for The Showcase Of Immortals, Elias is yet to find himself a worthy WrestleMania rivalry.
