During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed this week’s AEW Dynamite, and why The Acclaimed lost the AEW World Tag Team Titles. It was explained that Max Caster and Anthony Bowens will chase the titles now, since they had already beaten every other team on the roster.

The Gunns vs the Acclaimed, that was just a finish to make the babyfaces chase. You know, the Acclaimed had beaten everybody. It was time for them to lose. Granted, would you have gone with the Gunns? But that’s the Billy Gunn storyline they’re going with.

It was noted that this was an example of a weaker team winning to give them the titles, and heat. Now, the stronger team, who doesn’t need the belts, are going to chase the championships.

We’ll have to see what happens in the weeks to come. Obviously, AEW fans were less than elated about how this week’s Dynamite went down. The Acclaimed is still very much a babyface tag team, so they will likely have to chase those titles now.
