Alicia Taylor’s metal voice is a unique vocal style that she uses when introducing wrestlers in the ring. It is characterized by its deep, powerful tone and has become a signature part of her announcing style. Taylor has been using this style since she began working as an announcer for WWE in 2019, and she brought her heavy metal background to the role.

On the March 14th episode of RAW, Triple H asked Alicia Taylor to “use her metal voice” when introducing wrestlers for a 10-women tag team match. This is not the first time that Triple H had asked Taylor to use her metal voice. He had also asked her to do so during WrestleMania 32, NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, and other events.

On Wednesday’s Real Radio Monsters’ show from the WWE Performance Center, Alicia Taylor revealed that she had difficulties finding her voice on NXT television until Triple H asked her to tap into her real talent.

“It just never felt right to me. And then Triple H came over to me one day at rehearsal and he goes, ‘Hey, aren’t you a metal singer?’ And I said, ‘Yeah?’ He says, ‘Then give me your f**king metal voice!’ And I said, ‘Okay well, if I’ve got Triple H’s approval, then I’ll do that.”

Triple H’s request for Alicia Taylor to use her metal voice shows his appreciation for her unique announcing style and his respect for the women of NXT. By asking Taylor to use her metal voice, he is recognizing the importance of having strong female voices in wrestling and showing his support for the women of NXT.

Alicia Taylor still performs music, despite making her WWE job her primary priority. She has been the ring announcer for NXT since April 2019 and has worked RAW and SmackDown live events as well.

Before landing her NXT gig, Taylor turned heads around the world as an in-demand drummer, having showcased her skills alongside chart-topping musical acts like Selena Gomez, Tracy Chapman, and Miley Cyrus, to name a few. In 2015, she formed her own band, Dohrn.
