AEW has a loaded roster full of talent, but they are always looking for new people to fill up their television time. It seems that one indie wrestler has a debut to look forward to whenever AEW makes their way to the UK.
Chris Jericho said that Michael Oku’s AEW debut is a “done deal” for the company’s upcoming television tapings. The company will go to London in 2023, but they have not confirmed any exact dates yet.
Chris Jericho had Michael Oku on his Talk is Jericho podcast, where he made things quite clear. He guaranteed him time in an AEW ring, and he doubled-down by saying it’s a “done deal.”
“You’ll be on the (UK) show for sure, I’ll guarantee you that. I’ll guarantee it. No problem at all. That’s easy. That’s easy to do. Done. Done deal.”
Michael Oku is a top prospect from the UK. He has wrestled for RevPro and Over The Top Wrestling in the past. He has also worked for NJPW and Progress, as well as Game Changer Wrestling.
Michael Oku actually shared the ring with Jericho at the January 8th PWG Battle of Los Angeles show. During that match, Oku, Jonathan Gresham, Kevin Blackwood, Player Uno & SB KENTo faced off against the Jericho Appreciation Society.
We will have to see what’s next for Michael Oku in AEW, but odds are we haven’t seen the last of him yet by a long shot.
