Matt Cardona was known as Zack Ryder during his 15-year tenure with WWE. However, due to Covid-19 budget cuts in 2020, he was released from the company. Though he failed to gain traction in WWE, Cardona went on to become a bigger star across other promotions.

Last month saw Cardona talk about trademarking his WWE name “Zack Ryder” and his catchphrase, “Woo. Woo. Woo. You Know it,”. However, it appears that Cardona failed to get that trademark.

GCW announced on their Twitter that Cardona would be facing Nick Wayne at GCW Middle of the Night on February 18. Wayne jokingly responded that he’d be facing Zack Ryder

“Oh sh*t, Zack Ryder”

Cardona then revealed that he failed in getting the trademark for Zack Ryder. Cardona corrected Wayne by saying that he would be facing “The Indy God” and “The Deathmatch King”, Matt Cardona.

“Nah. I tried getting that trademark. Got denied. You’re fighting The Indy God…The Deathmatch King…The King of the Sea… MATT CARDONA!!!”

There have many speculations about the return of Matt Cardona to the WWE now that he’s established himself as a bigger star. His wife Chelsea Green has re-signed to the company, making her return at the 2023 Royal Rumble.

Cardona on the other hand has his lips tight on a possible WWE return. It remains to be seen if Cardona will be making a return to WWE. For more updates stay tuned to Ringside News.
