Cody Rhodes has surprised the pro wrestling world a couple of times in his career. Leaving WWE and helping Tony Khan start up AEW was something that few fans saw coming. Even more surprising was when he left AEW to make his return to WWE. Those moves caused a lot of attention, and also drew praise.
Al Snow once trained Al Snow in OWV, and he disclosed on “Al Snow LIVE” that he tells his students and other talent to do exactly what Cody Rhodes did if they don’t like their spot. After all, Rhodes proved that you can leave and come back an even bigger star.
“When Cody left WWE, I had made the statement that I was proud of the fact that he left on his terms. I taught Cody and everyone else, that that is your goal, is to be able to leave a territory or leave this business on your terms.”
Al Snow went on to explain how he applauded Cody Rhodes’ WWE exit. He explained that, “I’m like, if he wants it, he’ll be able to go back any time when he wants, when he’s ready, and you’ll have a better spot than when he left.”
Cody Rhodes’ return to WWE was a triumphant one, as he received one of the largest pops at WrestleMania 38. Then, almost a year later, the American Nightmare returned from a pec surgery where he also received another huge welcome from the WWE Universe.
With WrestleMania 39 in sight, Cody Rhodes has a huge match with Roman Reigns all lined up. Only time will tell if Sami Zayn can derail the Tribal Chief’s plan at Elimination Chamber, but The American Nightmare will be watching carefully.
We’ll have to see if Cody Rhodes can pull down a big win at WrestleMania. In the meantime, keep checking back with us here at Ringside News for more.
