Shane McMahon Was Upset That Stephanie McMahon & Triple H’s Relationship Was A Secret Kept From Him

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have been regarded as the ultimate power couple of wrestling. The duo has been together for a long time, first being paired onscreen and later on becoming partners in real life. However, there was speculation that Shane McMahon was not happy about The Game’s relationship with his sister, and Shane decided to clear the air on the subject.

There were numerous rumors that Shane McMahon had a problem with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s relationship over the years. He appeared in an interview with Hall of Famer Mick Foley on the Tell All podcast a few years ago to address the matter.

“At first it was… as long as they’re gonna be happy that’s all I really care about. You know, it was more old school back in the day, especially the boss’ daughter, you don’t ever date a talent at that point, because there was separation. At that time it was church and state, or office and the boys, if you will. So there’s a lot of old school stuff in there. The thing that didn’t sit well with me is that it was kept from me for a while, so that didn’t feel good.” 

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were aligned together onscreen during the late 1999 and early 2000, with the duo kickstarting the famous ‘McMahon-Hemsley era. It was the same time that they fell in love, leading to Triple H breaking off with her then-partner, Chyna.

Stephanie McMahon’s father, Vince McMahon initially gave his blessing to the couple to date each other. However, that did not last long and the duo split for nearly ten months before finding their way to each other.

The Game and the Billionaire Princess dated for close to three years before getting married in 2003. They have been blessed with three beautiful daughters together and have stayed tight to each other over the years.

Stephanie McMahon took over the position of WWE Chairwoman and Co-CEO alongside Nick Khan when her father Vince McMahon retired from the company back in July 2022. Triple H was then placed at the helm as Head of Creative but recently resigned after the resurgence of her father who significantly shattered her entire internal team and management, in an attempt to take over the company and pursue its sale. Stephanie McMahon left WWE after her father returned to take his Board of Directors’ chairman seat once again, but The Game is still running the show.
