Samoa Joe is a highly skilled and accomplished professional wrestler. He had a successful run in NXT before moving to the WWE main roster on two different occasions. Before that, he was a huge star in TNA for several years. It seems Joe believes that he is the most fined star in TNA.
Prior to making a huge splash in companies such as WWE and AEW, Samoa Joe cut his teeth in TNA during the early to late 2000s and well into the 2010s. During his time there, he faced numerous stars such as Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and many more.
The Samoan Submission Machine saw great success in TNA, becoming the World Champion as well as every single title in the company during his time in the promotion.
While speaking to Renee Paquette on The Sessions podcast, Samoa Joe talked about his time in TNA. Joe stated that he is the most fined person in the history of TNA.
“I think I am the most fiend/suspended guy in TNA history. Maybe not by this point, I don’t know. [Renee asks what for] You know, I just get upset, you know, at things and I just wouldn’t handle it the right way. And I flipped but well, here’s the thing. It’s never physical. You know, I’ve never assaulted anybody, never gonna threaten anybody’s life.”
“It’s not me, but I think if anybody’s been around when I’m – which I guess you have when I’m hot. And I’m shouting about things I’m told it’s like, very terrifying. And it seems very like violence is about to pop off and stuff.”
“So I mean, I think that’s really the gist. I remember the times there was like, anytime I had a big pop-off and somebody else would have something similar. Like I was always punished way more and it was like we were just scarier. It’s like, all right, cool.”
Samoa Joe also defeated Darby Allin to become a two-time TNT Champion on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, so Joe is very likely more than happy working in AEW right now.
