Batista has worked hard to establish himself as one of the greatest Superstars in WWE’s history, but his time in WWE was not always a bed of roses. The Animal certainly saw great success during his time in the company, as he went on to become a multi-time World Champion and a bona fide future WWE Hall of Famer. In fact, Batista hopes to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame this year.
In 2000, Batista joined WWE as part of their Ohio Valley System developmental program. He honed his skills there for two years, where he trained alongside future legends such as John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and Randy Orton.
Batista’s final match was against Triple H at WrestleMania 35, where he would lose to The Game. The Animal was supposed to receive a WWE Hall of Fame induction back in 2021, but he pulled out of the ceremony thanks to pandemic issues. At the time, The Animal tweeted out to explain his decision.
“To the @WWEUniverse Unfortunately due to previous obligations I am unable to be a part of the WWE HOF this year. By my request they have agreed to induct me at a future ceremony where I’ll be able to properly thank the fans and people who made my career possible 🙏 #DreamChaser”
While speaking to Liam Crowley of Comic Book, Batista talked about getting inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year. Batista made it clear that he hopes that will be the case this year.
“I hope so, but I can’t say for sure. I can say that I’m trying. I am trying.”
As previously reported, Batista is likely to get inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year. This will also be the first year that Triple H, who is still friends with Batista, will get to pick a class. We will have to wait and see whether that will end up happening, as The Animal certainly deserves it.
