Wardlow made his surprise return to AEW after the main event of Dynamite this week. Mr. Mayhem arrived to take out Samoa Joe, who was battered following his win over Darby Allin for the TNT Championship, but failed to deliver a powerbomb on the Samoan Submission Machine.
Wardlow destroyed ringside attendants. He launched one man to the outside with a variation of the Razor’s Edge to close out the show. The former TNT Champion took the mic after the show went off the air to address his hometown crowd of Ohio. Here’s his return address, courtesy of PW Insider.
After Dynamite went off the air, Wardlow cut a promo saying he missed everyone. He thanked them for not forgetting about him.
He said he was gone 4 weeks but it felt like four months. He was happy to be back in Ohio, where he’s originally from.
Wardlow said doing this in his home State is all he ever dreamed about. Being gone for four weeks, seeing everyone having so much fun, he wondered if people were still going to chant his name. The crowd did. He said, “There is my answer. I love you guys.” Wardlow left.
It remains to be seen if Wardlow will get his rematch against Samoa Joe for the TNT Championship. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more from the world of professional wrestling.
