Seth Rollins has had a highly successful career in WWE, earning multiple world championship titles and participating in memorable rivalries against some of the company’s top competitors. That being said, Rollins is never afraid of speaking his mind no matter what. This includes his most recent comments about CM Punk.
CM Punk’s run in WWE came to a shocking end after the Royal Rumble in 2014 when he was frustrated with the company, leading him to simply walk out. He had not competed in a ring for seven years until his AEW debut in 2021.
Even now, many fans feel that CM Punk was in the wrong for leaving WWE and his subsequent comments following his walkout. Punk is also public enemy #1 right now after the AEW All Out brawl last year.
Seth Rollins also called CM Punk a cancer during Royal Rumble weekend which led to a lot of discussions as well. While speaking on his podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T addressed what Rollins said. Booker T stated that he believes Seth Rollins spoke his true feelings when he called CM Punk a cancer.
“He was shooting 100%. I’m just glad I didn’t have to say it. I’m just glad people can’t look at me now and be like I’m a hater. I keep my mouth shut, my momma always told me if you don’t have something good to say about somebody, don’t say nothing at all. You hear other guys that have been around the business, that feel and speak the same way about Phil Brooks [CM Punk] and it’s because of being around him.”
People stop thinking everything is a work. If I say something negative to the point about somebody being ‘a cancer in the locker room,’ I’m not playing, okay? That’s not stuff you play around with, that’s not an angle, that’s just not. I know a lot of people out there that’s not in the business that wants to think that but sometimes it’s real, it’s real talk.”
CM Punk’s possible WWE return is also greatly opposed within the company. Triple H was also strongly warned against signing CM Punk. Regardless, we’ll have to see what will become of CM Punk in the end.
