Kevin Nash has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the professional wrestling industry, having witnessed numerous changes and evolutions throughout his career. He has competed for several years and has played a role in many iconic moments. That being said, Kevin Nash confirmed that he rejected an offer to appear at RAW is XXX last week.
WWE celebrated the 30th anniversary of RAW at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA last week. The company pulled out all the stops to make it a night to remember, as the company wanted to ensure fans would get something to be happy about.
As seen on last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, fans were greeted with a wave of nostalgia, especially those who had been watching WWE’s flagship show since the very start.
While many legends made it for the show, quite a few did not, including Kevin Nash. While speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Nash revealed he was invited to WWE Raw XXX and explained why he didn’t appear
“I was generously…Mr. Prichard [Bruce Prichard] reached out and asked if I would like to come. I just said…it’s a really long day to go to TV when you’re doing something, actually on the active roster or have a match or segment, it’s like building the pyramids if you’re playing a hand of cards.
I can’t be out there with DX because I’m too much of a dick. They all said they were too old, I would have headbutted that motherfucker in the forehead. No, I’m not backing down, so send me home, I’m not doing that. I’m glad I didn’t go because I didn’t see where the fuck I could have been used.”
Wade Keller previously reported on PWTorchVIP about this very subject, adding that Kevin Nash rejected an offer to appear on the show.
“I asked and was told he was invited by WWE but did not attend,” Keller said. “I didn’t inquire further or hear further details on why he did not attend. But keep in mind, he’s been having a real rough time. His 26-year-old son died from a seizure last fall.”
I don’t know Kevin’s state of mind. I talk to people who talk to him and I can understand it being a tough decision to show up and have to talk to everybody about it. He just might not be ready to do that. It might have been other factors that contributed to it, I don’t know. But I was glad to hear that an invitation was extended…”
WWE also failed to deliver on the Philly Street Fight between Seth Rollins and Austin Theory. All in all, it was a great show, despite any controversies or setbacks along the way. We will have to wait and see whether the company will be carrying on with this momentum.
