While speaking during the post-Royal Rumble press conference, Cody Rhodes talked about being Dusty Rhodes’ son. Rhodes revealed that he does not want Triple H to see his father in him.

He’s the one guy, I don’t think he remembers this but I’ll never forget this. I remember I talked to him in Gorilla Position one time when I was really frustrated doing Stardust and I wanted to walk out. He looked back at me and said, ‘Hey, rattle the cages.’ That could’ve meant a lot of thigns, go talk to the writers. I took it real literally. I went out and rattled them as much as I could. I’m so glad that that relationship is devleoped now, because it ‘s clear if you guys have seen how I modelled a lot of my presentation and performance, I’m a massive Triple H fan.

So, I’m glad that he’s the coach and I get to play, I wanna paly the quarterback. I owe him a lot for how he handled my dad but I don’t want him to look at me and see my dad. I want him to look at me and see me and today I felt like he saw me and that’s very important.

We will have to wait and see who Cody Rhodes will end up choosing as his opponent at WrestleMania 39. After all, a match against Roman Reigns will certainly be a blockbuster of huge proportions.
