WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix was one of the pioneers of women’s wrestling. This is because she was a huge star during a time when female wrestlers were not given much focus. That being said, it seems WWE has discussed having Phoenix compete at WWE Elimination Chamber.
Beth Phoenix won multiple women’s titles during her time as an active competitor, and her in-ring skills were second to none. Barring a few matches, Beth Phoenix was not active as an in-ring competitor for a long time.
Wrestling News reported that there were plans for Edge to wrestle Finn Balor in a Hell in a Cell match at the Rumble event, but that obviously didn’t happen. The Mountain Dew sponsorship was tied in with Bray Wyatt instead, and there is no demon in sight.
It was further reported that there were also plans to bring Beth Phoenix back. Beth is scheduled to be at the Rumble, but it is not known whether she will compete in the Rumble match.
In fact, there have been talks about her competing again. Last month, there were plans for a highly-anticipated Mixed Tag Team Match at the Elimination Chamber show in Montreal, featuring Beth Phoenix and Edge taking on Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley.
However, there is no guarantee the match will even happen now. With plans changing almost all the time, only time will tell whether fans will get to see Beth Phoenix compete again.
