WWE Hall of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler was one of the mainstays of WWE television for several years and was the voice of a generation. He is no longer part of the active WWE commentary team, but does make sporadic appearances from time to time. Lawler recently created an unprecedented streak in professional wrestling history.

Jerry Lawler recently worked on an indie show in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that show marked the 53 straight years he has done a match.

Jerry Lawler’s streak might be historically unheard-of. It is even more remarkable considering the fact that he had a near-fatal heart attack at one point in his career. Lawler also wore the same dress he wore in 1993 on his first appearance as an announcer on the show.
