WrestleMania is one of pro wrestling’s most anticipated yearly events. As we are heading onto the road to WrestleMania, the question on so many minds is who’s going to main event WrestleMania against Roman Reigns. Many have speculated that a WWE legend is going to make a return and face off against the Tribal Chief. Rumors pointed to either The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin. While it may seem plausible for many, that report was shut down regarding Reigns and Austin. It turns out that Ric Flair could still picture the Texas Rattlesnake wrestling again sooner than later.

For a long time, it was thought that The Rock would be a “virtual lock” for a match at WrestleMania 39. However, the Hollywood star’s busy schedule wouldn’t permit him to make it to the grandest stage of them all. Ringside News exclusively reported in December that WWE creative was pitching alternatives for The Rock.

This led WWE creative to look for a new match at WrestleMania. As previously reported, WWE pitched a match for Steve Austin vs Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

Two-time Hall of Famer Ric Flair addressed the rumors of either WWE legend making a WrestleMania appearance on his To Be The Man podcast, believing it doesn’t make sense for either of them should return to the ring. The Nature Boy noted that neither Rock nor Steve needed the money from a major role in WrestleMania.

“[Steve will] only do it if he wants to do it. As far as The Rock goes, obviously he doesn’t need the money, and if he did it, I don’t see him doing a favor, and why would he.”

Ric Flair’s co-host Conrad Thompson explained that The Great One would be “doing a favor” for his cousin. To this, The Nature Boy claims that Roman Reigns didn’t need one, adding that it is much more likely for the Texas Rattlesnake to return and face The Tribal Chief.

“I think it’s more likely that Steve [Austin] would come back,”.

Steve Austin already made a WrestleMania return last year. If he takes up WWE’s offer it would make for two WrestleMania returns in a row, however this time it would be a main event. As Ringside News exclusively reported, Steve Austin turned down an offer to wrestle at SummerSlam.

It remains to be seen who is locked down to become the Tribal Cheif’s opponent at WrestleMania 39. For more updates, stay tuned to Ringside News.
