Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson needs no introduction when it comes to the pro wrestling world, as he is still regarded as one of the all-time greats. He is also a dominant force in Hollywood and brings huge star power to any film he acts in. In fact, even LA Knight has been compared to The Rock in a huge way.

Knight made a significant impression after his debut at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day on February 14th, 2021. Following his promotion to the main roster, he underwent a transformation and was rebranded as Max Dupri. However, he later returned to his original persona and is currently engaged in a captivating rivalry with Bray Wyatt on Friday Night Smackdown.

LA Knight is regarded as one of the best promo workers in WWE right now and there is a good reason for that. In fact, LA Knight has managed to win over many thanks to his promos.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet for Insight, LA Knight talked about his promo ability being compared to the Rock. Knight made it clear that he does not think his voice is similar to The Rock.

“Well, you know what’s so funny is as I go online, you know, and Twitter might be the worst thing in the world. The amount of people I’ve been compared to and said that I am is astounding. And every day I’ll see a new one. And I’ll just be like wait, who? That too.

So yeah, it’s not surprising. But yeah, I mean, just the voice tambour again, I mean, watching the hero back in 2013. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since that, but sometimes you would just hear my voice or you’d hear His voice. And it would be tough to tell who was who you’re just like, and until the person’s face came on screen you’re like oh, yeah. But I don’t know. I don’t think otherwise there’s a whole like [similarity]. It’s just my normal speaking voice. But like, I don’t think that once I actually get amped up or anything like that, I think I kind of lose it at that point.”

LA Knight is set to face off against Bray Wyatt in a Pitch Black match during the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event on January 28th. We’ll have to see how the match will turn out.
